Wolfblass wine From Australia Wolf Blass Wines was born in 1973 when Wolf started his own business, purchasing a 2.5 acre land holding with an old army shed outside Nuriootpa, at the northern end of the Barossa Valley. John Glaetzer joined the company and from 1974 to 1976, Wolf Blass Wines won three consecutive Jimmy Watson Trophies (Best Australian Red Wine at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show) with Black Label, generating substantial publicity and hype. And In 1999, Wolf Blass Black Label vecame the only wine to win the coveted Jimmy Watson Trophy an unprecedented four times. Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz- a finest red blend made from the highest quality grapes sourced from within South Australia each vintage. Platinum Label Shiraz - Made in extremely limited quantities from low yielding vines, Wolf Blass Platinum Label Shiraz was first produced from the outstanding 1998 vintage. Platinum Label vineyards are characterised by their intensity of colour, concentration of fruit flavour, an elegant, balanced structure and long, fine tannins. It quite literally is, the pick of the crop. Wolf Blass Grey Label Cabernet Sauvignon -is the founder's favourite wine and was the second wine to carry his name when released in 1967.For 40 years has been sourced from just one region - Langhorne Creek. Wolf Blass Grey Label Shiraz - Historically this was a blend from several regions, mostly McLaren Vale, Barossa Vale and Langhome Creek.Since 2002, McLaren Vale was best suited it's now a 100% McLaren Vale wine Launched in 1985 the Gold Label range offers wines that are committed to excellence and innovation in winemaking, utilising Australia's best grape growing regions and the varietals for which they are recognised. Chardonnay - The Adelaide Hills are relatively cool and boast a variety of soil types. Cool climate region producing exquisite fruit, which makes a perfect wine. Shiraz - The Barossa is a Shiraz paradise and it has a reputation as a place where quality takes precedence over quantity. The Barossa and Shiraz have developed a strong reputation for producing low yields of intense fruit, full bodied wines. Cabernet Sauvignon - Coonawarra has terra rossa soil, and a cool climate produces some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon. With blackberry fruits, leafy mint lift and dusty oak tannins and longevity.
